Yes it is true. Nels and I were chased down and arrested on Saturday by two officers from the South Mountain precinct. It only cost us a $20 donation! This all came about at the American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Laveen. This was the first year for it in Laveen. We had a great turn out and raised a lot of money. I volunteered to help out and in the process met a lot of great people. Our In & Out Chiropractic Team had a great time.
Now it is time to recover from lack of sleep. The event went from 3pm Saturday until 8am Sunday. Some people slept for a while, others like Dr. Nels and I were up all night! Our team wanted to know, can you catch up on sleep? Yes you can. So how do you do it? For the next week or so, plan on getting an extra hour or two of sleep. Lack of sleep can contribute to excess weight gain. Basically your body knows it will need to catch up on sleep, so in defense it will tend to hold onto more body fat. This is done to prepare for ‘hibernation’ so to speak. Your body knows at some point it will need to sleep longer to catch up. Unfortunately you can not get ‘extra’ sleep. But you can catch up!
