When you wake up in the morning, first thing, what do you ask yourself?  Right off hand you might be thinking I don’t ask myself anything. However, if you really check in with yourself right when you wake up you will realize you have a primary question.  For example, I used to start thinking about what I had to do for the day right when I woke up. So I was asking myself what I had to do that day.  Not necessarily a bad question, but could be better. Your primary question sets the tone for the day. The questions we ask ourselves are what we focus on.  The better your question, the better your focus and the better your outcome will be.  Now I have much better questions.  One question I wake up and ask myself is how can I have even more fun, enjoy and appreciate all that I will be today?  Now I am implying I am having fun and I am focused on being rather than doing.

So when you wake up in the morning see what you ask yourself. Are you getting what you want out of life?  Are you happy? Could you be asking yourself a better question?

Take a mental note with your self talk. And listen to others. How often do you hear someone say why does this always happen to me?  Perhaps a better question would be what can I learn from this?

This is something we learned at a Tony Robbins seminar. It is very powerful.  NBC will be airing a reality show on Tuesdays starting tomorrow July 27th, Breakthrough with Tony Robbins.  Check it out. You might learn something that will change your life!
